In collaboration with INAF, the Centre NUTRISS leads a clinical research platform in nutrition that is unique in Canada, enabling the conduct of large-scale clinical, behavioral, and epidemiological research.

The Clinical Investigation Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for conducting clinical studies, including a sampling room and an experimental kitchen.

  • Web-Based Project Management Platform – FANI 

FANI is a web-based platform that offers several essential functionalities for the conduct of a research project. It consists of two interfaces: one allows research participants to complete online questionnaires, and the other allows study coordinators to verify participants’ eligibility, randomize them to an intervention group, enter data, and extract the collected data.

  • Web-Based 24-Hour Recall (R24W)

The R24W is a self-administered, automated web-based 24-hour dietary recall. It provides detailed data on nutrient intakes, including added sugars. The R24W also allows for the calculation of various diet quality scores.

  • Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ)

The FFQ is a self-administered, automated web-based food frequency questionnaire. It assesses respondents’ dietary intake over the past month. Daily nutrient intakes as well as servings based on the 2007 Canada’s Food Guide can be extracted.
